Pacemaker Nutrition: Performance without compromise

Jakob and Martin, two passionate endurance athletes, had a clear goal: to develop sports nutrition that delivers what it promises—without artificial additives or unnecessary ingredients. Their shared passion gave rise to Pacemaker Nutrition. Products based on the latest sports science and characterized by natural fruit flavors.

Over a year ago, Jakob began regularly testing various products at our office. It quickly became clear that this was targeted market research. Together with Martin, a pharmacist, he then developed his first products – manufactured in Martin's factory in Giesing, Munich, just around the corner from our office. After numerous tests and optimizations, the first finished product was finally ready for the market.

Pacemaker Pro Neutral

What makes it special: high-carb and natural ingredients

First, the two brought the Pacemaker Pro Drink Mix to our shop. We tested both the neutral version (unflavored) and the lime flavor extensively—and the Sporthunger team was immediately impressed by the pleasantly subtle taste. One serving provides 45 g of carbohydrates and 250 mg of sodium. Whether isotonic (one serving in 500 ml of water) or as a high-carb mix (two servings in 500 ml), the 2:1 ratio of glucose to fructose ensures optimal energy intake of up to 90 g of carbohydrates per hour without upsetting the stomach.

Completely free of artificial flavors, the drink contains only three to four basic ingredients: maltodextrin, fructose, real lime juice extract, and sodium citrate. This makes it easy to digest and prevents “flavor fatigue” even during long periods of exertion. The powders dissolve excellently in water without forming lumps. Drink Mix Pro is now available in practical single packs for on the go as well as in environmentally friendly 1 kg bags.

For ambitious athletes, Pacemaker Elite has also recently been added to the range. Here, the ratio of glucose to fructose has been adjusted to 1:0.8 – ideal for high-carb strategies of 90-120 g of carbohydrates and more per hour. If you want to consume less than 90 g of carbohydrates per hour, then the Pro version is definitely the better choice.

The future of Pacemaker Nutrition: New flavors & products

Pacemaker products are not only very easy on the stomach, but also attractively priced. A single pack costs only $1.99. A 1 kg bag of Pro Drink Mix costs only $24.99, which works out to about $1.20 per serving. With 45 g of carbohydrates per serving, this is a very attractive price for high-quality sports nutrition. An even larger bulk pack is also in the works.

Jakob and Martin see a lot of potential: we can look forward to new flavors in the future. The two have numerous other product ideas, including a recovery drink mix, sodium bicarbonate capsules, and other exciting products. The claim remains unchanged: 100% performance. 0% bullsh*t.

With that in mind, stay hungry!
