Pacemaker: Premium drink mixes for maximum carbohydrate intake
With their Pacemaker brand, Jakob and Martin brought a breath of fresh air to the sports nutrition scene in 2025. Pacemaker Pro Drink Mix provides 45 g of carbohydrates and 250 mg of sodium in a 2:1 glucose-fructose ratio, ideal for intense workouts. Pacemaker Elite, on the other hand, focuses on maximum carbohydrate absorption with a 1:0.8 ratio: up to three sachets per hour can be efficiently utilized in 500 ml of water. Neutral or light lime flavor, clean composition, and own bottling – premium quality made in Germany at a fair price.
SUNN.: Fresh taste meets functional performance
SUNN. is a young German brand that brings fresh flavor to sports nutrition. The drink mix has a refreshing mint and lemon taste. Developed by endurance athletes for endurance athletes, SUNN. stands for functional performance, natural ingredients, and genuine drinking pleasure—ideal for long runs, hot competition days, and anyone who values taste and effectiveness in equal measure.
BIX Gels: High-carb energy from the ultratrail scene
The Australian company BIX, owned by ultrarunner Vlad Ixel, has finally developed energy gels in 2025. BIX Gel 30 provides 30 g of carbohydrates and is available in Berry (200 mg sodium) and Salted Strawberry (300 mg sodium) flavors. The Big 40 Gel is a high-carb version that provides 40 g of carbohydrates and 200 mg of sodium – also available with caffeine. All variants impress with their pleasant liquid consistency, which makes them particularly easy to consume while running. Thanks to the 1:0.8 ratio of glucose to fructose, the carbohydrates are absorbed efficiently – ideal for high-carb strategies.
Carbs Fuel: Maximum energy, minimum fuss
Carbs Fuel from Colorado is an energy-rich gel that is affordable, easy to digest, and perfect for intense workouts. Developed by endurance athlete Gabe Multer and metabolic physiologist Aaron Gouw, it provides a full 50 g of carbohydrates per serving. Its thin consistency makes it particularly easy to consume, even under stress. It also has a subtle citrus note that tastes pleasantly fresh. There are also versions with extra sodium or caffeine – ideal for long distances and hot competitions.
Precision Fuel & Hydration: Tailored energy and hydration
The British brand Precision Fuel & Hydration has a clear concept: individual energy and fluid intake for endurance athletes. The PF 90 Gel stands out in particular – it provides 90 g of carbohydrates in resealable packaging and is ideal for long sessions or competitions. Equally impressive are the Hydration Tablets, which come in three strengths to provide precise sodium intake depending on sweat loss. Founder Andy Blow, himself a triathlete, relies on scientifically based formulas that combine performance, tolerability, and practicality. A well-thought-out range.
