The gel-like consistency supports symptom-free transport through the stomach to the intestine, where water, salt and carbohydrates can be dissolved and the energy finally absorbed. The goal of the technology is to increase carbohydrate absorption without causing stomach problems.

Application: Mix the contents of one sachet in 500 ml of water and shake the bottle until the powder is completely dissolved. For the proper formation of the hydrogel, the mixing ratio should be followed accurately. One bag contains a net quantity of 83 g.

About Maurten

First things first: Maurten is pronounced like "Morten." The company is named after Mårten, a triathlete and family friend of founder and entrepreneur Olof Sköld. The spelling "Maurten" simply came about because morten.com was already taken.

Mårten had the idea that it should be possible, with new technology, to ensure a higher energy supply through sports nutrition. The project quickly attracted the interest of elite athletes and was first used in competition by Kenenisa Bekele during the Berlin Marathon in 2016. Bekele won the race and improved his personal best by two minutes.
